Join a firm built to a higher standard.
TB Defense hires people who are calm under pressure, disciplined, and discreet. We staff protective details from our Chicago base, locally, nationally, and internationally, and we want to hear from professionals who hold themselves to the standard our clients expect.
Who we look for.
The credential matters, but judgment matters more. We value law enforcement and military backgrounds, and we hire on composure, professionalism, and the ability to read a room.
Composure
The work is mostly calm awareness, not confrontation. We want people who stay measured when a situation gets tense and who de-escalate by default.
Professionalism
Our agents fit the environment, from a board dinner to a public appearance. Most work sits in executive protection and corporate security. Appearance, discretion, and reliability are not optional.
Discretion
What our clients trust us with stays private. Discretion is a condition of the work, on the detail and off it.

What Illinois requires.
Security work in Illinois is licensed. To work unarmed, you need a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC). To work armed, you also need a valid FOID card and a Firearm Control Card issued by IDFPR, which requires completing the state firearm training and qualification. Check current IDFPR requirements for details. If you are early in that process, tell us where you stand; we are glad to talk with strong candidates who are working toward their credentials.
